WHAT IS A WORKAHOLIC?
Our definition is more practical than scientific.  Probably if you are involved in work related activities more than 60 hours a week on a regular basis you could be a workaholic.  We have some fun questions to help you decide, but it's a self diagnosis.
Click here to take the fun "test."

IS IT GOOD TO BE A WORKAHOLIC?
That depends.  The "average" workaholic, as we would describe one, works too hard, relaxes too little, but does have other interests and a bit of a life.  On balance, we would say it is good.

Can good turn to bad?  Absolutely!  There are excesses in just about every endeavor, and for some they work so much that they lose their family, their job, and their life.  It can be debilitating and destructive, just as drinking too much, doing drugs, and other self-destructive behaviors.  These folks need serious help and you can click here to go to some sites that deal with the clinical side of working too hard.  We're here to aid the "average" workaholics so they don't become "clinical."

WHERE DID THE IDEA COME FROM?
We wanted a presence on the web, and we concluded the thing we knew the most about was working too darned much - we were certifiable experts in that.  We believe that most workaholics are winners, they are shaping the world around us and providing opportunities to countless others, and so WIN seemed like a great acronym; the name had to match and thus Workaholics International Network was born.

ARE WE SERIOUS?  NOT ENTIRELY!
Not really, there's thousands of other sites that tend to the serious, the boring, the big fat books non-psychologists would never read.  We're tongue in cheek for the hard working stiffs of the world who'd like to have a laugh, think it's OK to work a lot, wish they didn't work so much, and have maintained their sense of humor.  For the rest of those who send us letters that we are making light of a serious and potentially debilitating subject we say, get a life - Jay Leno's monologue would last 30 seconds if he didn't bring humor to serious subjects.
